Massive downpour to strike 80 per cent of Australia – here’s when it will hit Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne

Millions of Australians will face wet weather as a band of rain moves across the east of the country.

According to Sky News weather presenter Lucy Polkinghorne, 80 percent of the country is likely to experience wet conditions this week.

“This band of rain will continue to move eastwards during the week, increasing cloud cover over the eastern half of the country by Tuesday, bringing much cooler and showery conditions,” Polkinghorne said.

‘In fact, 80 percent of the country is likely to experience wet weather from this event.’

According to the Bureau of Meteorology, rain is expected in Sydney from Wednesday and Thursday, with a slight lightening of the rain possible on Friday.
