Massimiliano Allegri has confirmed that Paul Pogba has returned to the Juventus squad ahead of the derby against Torino.
The French international has not featured since rejoining Italian giants Manchester United in the summer, after leaving England on a free deal.
His second debut for the club has been highly anticipated and it looks like Juventus fans won’t have to wait much longer after Allegri confirmed Pogba’s availability.
Speaking at his press conference before the derby clash, the head coach said: “He is [Pogba] better, they will call you tomorrow.
“If there is a need tomorrow, we will put him, for sure he will not be able to play many minutes.”
Paul Pogba is in line to make his highly anticipated second debut for Juventus on Tuesday.
Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri confirmed the Frenchman’s availability for the match
Allegri then relaxed expectations, as he said: “Now, to say that Pogba can start at Juventus after 315 days without playing, Chiesa, who has been out for 10 months, is the same. We need a little patience.
The Italian manager was then asked what his expectations are for Pogba, who has not played a competitive game since United’s 4-0 defeat by Liverpool last April.
I talked to him like I do with other players. He has to understand that it is an important part of the season to get back to normal, he has to have all the motivation to do well until the end of the season and give us a hand.
The French midfielder recently came under fire from former Juventus midfielder Marco Tardelli, who claimed that Pogba has become a “big problem” for the club.
The former United star was spotted on holiday before confused fans questioned why Pogba was hitting the ski slopes. despite recovering from those blows.
Pogba returned to the bench during Juventus’ shock 2-0 home loss to Monza late last month.
But Allegri did not risk the former Manchester United star and remained an unused substitute throughout the match as Juventus fell to 13th in the division following his 15-point deduction for the club’s transfer transactions.
Pogba has been unavailable since joining Serie A giants Man United in the summer.
Allegri’s team were handed the points fine by an Italian court earlier in the season after an investigation into the club’s transfer transactions.
With 20 games to play in the season, Juventus were third in Serie A and 10 points behind leaders Napoli before receiving the hefty points deduction.
Speaking on the matter, Allegri said: ‘We have exceeded the 15-point deduction. We have a very clear mini-objective to carry the ball and not lose confidence because we scored 47 points.
‘We know that we have to try to reach the end of the season having collected the points to finish in the top four. Net of penalties.
