The Israeli army ordered mass evacuations in southern Gaza yesterday after a deadly attack on a school.

The latest evacuation orders cover Khan Younis, Gaza’s second-largest city, and part of an Israeli-declared humanitarian zone from which the military says rockets have been fired.

Tens of thousands of people had already fled last week due to a separate evacuation order.

This comes after the city was heavily destroyed by an air and ground offensive earlier this year.

On Saturday, an Israeli airstrike hit a mosque in a school in Gaza City, where thousands of people were sheltering.

According to the Gaza Health Ministry, 80 people were killed and 50 wounded in Saturday’s attack. Israel denies this, however, saying that 19 Hamas and Islamic Jihad militants were killed in a specific attack.

According to the Gaza Ministry of Health, 80 people were killed and 50 injured.

Israel denies this, saying it killed 19 Hamas and Islamic Jihad militants in a targeted attack. Their names and photos were made public.

One of those evacuated yesterday morning was Ramadan Issa, a father of five, who joined hundreds of people walking toward the center of Gaza.

‘Every time we settle in one place and build tents for women and children, [Israel] “An army is coming and the area is being bombed,” he said. “This situation is unbearable.”

The conflict has been going on for ten months now and the Ministry of Health reports that the number of Palestinian deaths is approaching 40,000. Experts warn of famine.

The evacuation comes amid rising tensions with Iran, which has announced it will take revenge on Israel following the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh last month.

Tehran announced yesterday that the Revolutionary Guards will hold exercises near the border with Iraq until tomorrow.
