Mason Mount and Chelsea team-mate Conor Gallagher led the excited reaction of England players who made Gareth Southgate’s England World Cup squad when the pair admitted they were “buzzing” to fly to Qatar.
Mount was part of the 26-man roster, which has been widely expected given how important he has become to Gareth Southgate’s team, although Gallagher was a surprise inclusion after lacking minutes for the Blues.
Mount had previously posted a photo of himself when he was seven years old wearing an England kit and watching the 2006 World Cup, dreaming of playing in the biggest tournament in the world, before showing a video showing he celebrates with Gallagher.
