Mason Greenwood is set to end his controversial career at Manchester United by moving to Marseille.
Greenwood held talks with United officials at Carrington on Monday but did not train with his team-mates on the first day of pre-season training.
The 22-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Getafe, has been told he has no future at Old Trafford despite charges of attempted rape and assault against him being dropped last year.
Marseille have overtaken Lazio, Atletico Madrid and Valencia in the race to sign Greenwood with talks at an advanced stage. The French club are believed to have made a bid worth £25million plus add-ons and a substantial sale price, although the two clubs have discussed a loan deal with an obligation to buy at the end of the season.
Donny van de Beek is also set to end his miserable career at Old Trafford as United close to completing a deal with Girona for the Dutch midfielder.

United are prepared to accept a transfer fee of £450,000 for a player who cost £35m from Ajax four years ago. However, the deal is also said to include bonuses of up to £16m as well as a sell-on clause.
There are a number of other players who could leave to fund new signings this summer. Juventus are leading the charge for Jadon Sancho (£40m), Fenerbahce are interested in Victor Lindelöf and Galatasaray and West Ham are interested in Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Real Valladolid are reportedly considering signing Facundo Pellistri, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Granada.
Casemiro reported for pre-season training on Monday morning but United are still keen to pare the Brazilian’s £375,000 weekly salary by selling him to a Saudi Pro League club.

Meanwhile, Scott McTominay could become a target for Fulham and Everton.
United are said to be reluctant to sell McTominay after rejecting a £30m bid from West Ham last summer, but the Scottish midfielder is said to be keen on a regular first-team place.
Like Greenwood, McTominay would generate 100 percent profit as United look to meet profit and sustainability rules and raise money for new players.
If possible, they want to bring in two central defenders: Matthijs de Ligt and Jarrad Branthwaite.
Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee and Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte are also key targets.

United’s first pre-season friendly of the summer is in just over a week.
The Red Devils will face Rosenborg in Norway on July 15 and then travel to Scotland to take on Rangers in Edinburgh.
Then it’s on to the United States, where United will face Arsenal, Real Betis and Liverpool, before a reunion with Manchester City on August 10 in the Community Shield at Wembley.
