Award-winning masked rapper C.Gambino has been shot dead in an ambush in a parking lot in Sweden.
The 26-year-old, whose real name is Karar Ramadan, was one of Sweden’s biggest rap stars.
He parked his car last night in a garage in Gothenburg, where according to Swedish media one or more attackers were lurking.
He was shot dead with at least two shots, according to police, with photos from the scene showing several bullet holes in a glass door.
A huge star in his native Sweden, C.Gambino had a million monthly listeners on Spotify and recently released a new single.
The hip-hop artist received a Swedish Grammy Award a few weeks ago.
He should not be confused with Childish Gambino, the stage name of American singer and actor Donald Glover.
C.Gambino’s death comes just a few years after the shooting of another high-profile Swedish rapper.
Nils Kurt Erik Einar Grönberg, who went by the name Einár, was only 19 years old when he was killed in an ‘execution-style shooting’ in 2021.
According to Swedish public broadcaster SVT, the rapper’s shooting was gang-related.
Police have refused to rule out gang wars as a reason for the latest killing, Swedish media reported.
