Season premiere Married At First Sight DOMINATES ratings and beats Channel 10’s Australian Survivor and Australian Idol on Seven
Married At First Sight won the ratings showdown on Monday, with its season 10 premiere topping key demographics and drawing 840,000 metropolitan viewers.
Monday marked the start of the 2023 ratings year with the major commercial networks launching their reality shows in prime time: MAFS on Nine, Australian Survivor on Channel 10 and Australian Idol on Seven.
But it was MAFS that finished on top, leading the pack with nearly 400,000 viewers across the five capital cities.

The 840k meter figure put him leagues ahead of Survivor and Idol.
Australian Survivor: Heroes V Villains was released to 447,000 viewers, while the Idol reboot drew just 413,000 metropolitan viewers.
However, these numbers are expected to grow significantly when regional figures, streaming, and seven-day catch-up are added to the mix.

Despite its easy win, ratings for MAFS have dipped since its 2022 premiere, which drew a metropolitan audience of 869,000.
One of the highlights of the season launch was outspoken girlfriend Melissa Sheppard.
The 41-year-old hairdresser from Sydney was excited as she introduced herself to viewers, describing herself as a bubbly mum who enjoys playing in the sheets.
‘I’m so excited! I think tonight is going to be like mothers night out,’ Melissa said in the limo on the way to the bachelorette party.

Discussing her colorful dating history, Melissa said: “I look like the girl next door, but I like to actually look like a little monster in the sheets.”
‘I’m not a normal mother. Caveat! Caveat! I’m daring, I’m loud, and I like to spice things up. I love role playing games. Yeah, sex is huge for me,” she laughed.
Melissa was then filmed going through her lingerie drawer, presumably packing for her wedding night and honeymoon.
Outside the bachelorette party, Melissa told the cameras: ‘I’m so excited for my wedding, I can’t wait! My future husband, enjoy your last night of freedom, because you are about to marry me. Its alot!’
