Maserati driver is shot on live TV after high-speed police chase through Los Angeles
A man suspected of domestic violence was shot multiple times by police after leading them on a chase in the middle of the day.
The LAPD responded to a 911 call for assault with a deadly weapon and domestic violence at Gaffey and 19th Street in San Pedro today around 12:17 p.m.
The call stated that the alleged victim was driving a DASH city bus and was being chased by a 38-year-old male driver in a white Maserati.
Police managed to catch up with the speeding Maserati on the 110 Freeway, where the suspect refused to stop despite warnings, police said. KTL.
Live television coverage from Sky5 showed the chase finally coming to an end in the West Adams neighborhood around 1 p.m.
The suspect was seen pulling into the rear parking lot of an apartment complex in the 4100 block of Jefferson Boulevard.
The man wearing the hooded sweatshirt was then seen walking quickly toward officers who had spread out along the front of the building.
But instead of surrendering, disturbing footage shows him pulling two pistols from his pockets and shooting at police.

Within seconds, police fired several shots at him and he fell to the ground.
Officers then approached him, took away his weapons and rendered aid. First responders took him to a hospital on a stretcher.
Police Chief Jim McDonnell later said at a news conference: “The suspect in the driveway pulled out two guns, one in each hand, and opened fire on the officers.
“Officers returned fire and hit the suspect. The suspect was on the ground.”
He confirmed that the gunmen survived but remain in critical conditions.
‘It went very quickly. Thank God no officers were injured.
‘This kind [thing] shows exactly what our officers face every day: confronting a suspect who is going to do what he has to do to get away,” he noted.
McDonnell also revealed that a female bystander was also shot in the arm as a result and rushed to the nearest hospital.
It is still unclear whether she was shot by the police or by the suspect.

A woman who lives in the apartment complex where the shooting occurred tearfully told KTLA, “It’s horrible to have to live with. About domestic violence, it’s just terrible’
Footage also showed three women being handcuffed and taken away for unclear reasons.
A woman who lives in the apartment complex where the shooting took place said this through tears KTL: ‘It’s terrible to have to live with. As far as domestic violence goes, it’s just terrible.”
She told me too CBS that the suspect’s parents live in her building.
This comes a day after a suspect made a ridiculous mistake that ended a high-speed chase through the streets of Louisiana, captured on absurd dashcam footage.
Tyler Pugh, 33, of Baton Rouge, drove more than 10 miles above the speed limit in his white Chevrolet SUV earlier this month, eventually leading police officers on a 20-minute chase through residential neighborhoods and vacant lots after refusing to stop for a routine traffic stop.
McDonnell also revealed that a female bystander was also shot in the arm as a result and rushed to the nearest hospital.

Dashcam footage captured the high-speed chase – which exceeded 100mph at some points – as the suspect weaved through traffic on the highway, narrowly missing other cars on the road before taking a turn into a more residential area.
The footage then captured Pugh driving erratically into residents’ yards, where he was then surrounded by responding officers.
In an attempt to get around one of the patrol cars, he hit a tree, tearing off half of his front bumper, while officers were caught exiting their vehicles.
But moments later, Pugh accelerated and accelerated in reverse, hitting a patrol car in his path before turning the wheel and crashing into another tree, causing his vehicle to overturn, as state police fired at least 10 shots in his direction.
The shots struck two of the three people in the runaway car, sending Pugh and another passenger to the hospital for treatment, where he was later arrested and booked into jail on outstanding warrants.
