Maryland teachers’ union rep is suspended for vile anti-Semitic posts – including calling wealthy Jewish people ‘gluttons and thieves’

A Maryland school has suspended a union boss who branded four wealthy local Jews “gluttons and thieves,” admitting the teacher had caused “deep misery” to the community.

English teacher Angela Wolf was sent home from Takoma Park Middle School after the apparently anti-Semitic Facebook post from 2022 surfaced among a blizzard of posts attacking Israel and demanding “Not a war, but a class war!”

“None of these people invented anything useful and that's true [sic] have done a hell of a lot to advance the needs of communities,” she told her followers.

“They are gluttons and thieves, they have amassed this kind of wealth by abusing employees.”

Wolf, an official with the Montgomery County Education Association, pushed back against the outrage, saying she had no idea the people she mentioned were Jewish.

Erin Martin, principal of Takoma Park Middle School, denounced a “series of anti-Semitic online posts” and emphasized that she “strongly condemns the views expressed.”

Wolf also posted a cartoon of an Israeli tank pointing its cannon at babies in a hospital with the caption “Enemies in sight,” accused Israel of “carnage” and claimed the country is “determined to make Gaza uninhabitable.”

Erin Martin, principal of the school in Silver Spring, Maryland, said the posts had “undermined our school's values of respect and belonging.”

“I was extremely saddened and disappointed by the content of these messages and strongly condemn the views expressed,” she added.

Wolf, a senior official with the Montgomery County Education Association, appeared to single out the four Jewish men in her December 2022 post, shortly after they were named to Forbes' list of America's 400 richest people among Maryland's seven billionaires .

She told the Daily Wire that she had “no idea that these billionaires were Jewish or that my choice of words had any historical significance to the Jewish community.”

But she ignored the two non-Jewish billionaires on the list, while including one non-Jew named Bernard Saul.

Still, the school suspended her because of the poles.

Her suspension comes a month after a history teacher from nearby Tilden Middle School was sent home after claiming that Israelis are killing Palestinians to sell their organs and that the Oct. 7 Hamas attack was a hoax.

'Debunked!! No music festival attack. Babies were not burned. Women were not violated,” Sabrina Khan-Williams wrote on Facebook.

“Palestinians (sic) are being murdered and their organs are being sold,” concluded the team leader for Diversity, Equality and Inclusion.

The post targeting locals wasn't her only controversial statement. Last month, Wolf praised bus drivers who left hundreds of Jewish people behind at D.C.'s Dulles Airport as they returned from a pro-Israel rally, telling his followers that “their solidarity with the victims of the Israeli genocide is to be commended.”

Despite her suspension, Wolf remains a member of the board of the education union that represents 14,000 staff members in the province.

“Any action resulting from an investigation will be considered a personnel matter,” district officials wrote to parents.

“Due to employee privacy laws, MCPS and Takoma Park Middle School cannot provide further details regarding the personnel matter.”

The messages no longer appear on social media. The only thing visible on a Facebook page listed as Wolf's is a supportive letter from an admirer claiming that “teachers like Angela Wolf and others who have the heart and decency to join the fight for human rights should be applauded, not punished, and especially not by a school district.”

“Palestinians are an oppressed minority and need global support in their struggle against the occupation and life under an apartheid regime,” it added.

But there is little support to be found in the dozens of comments below, which dismiss her comments as “ignorant talk from a deranged anti-Semite.”

“I suggest you fly to Gaza to teach ESL,” wrote Marlaine McGuiness.

“I'm sure many of us here would be more than happy to pay for your flight and your salary.”

“We're coming for your job, you psychopathic anti-Semite,” Daniel Gold added.
