Maryland father, 40, dies after fight with neighbor that broke out when his dogs ran through a hole in the fence onto next door’s property

A grandfather-to-be has died after getting into a fight with neighbors in a rural Maryland area in June that turned physical.

According to Montgomery County police, Marvin Guevara Guevara, 40, got into an altercation with a neighbor over the victim’s dogs running loose on her property. The argument escalated when the woman punched Guevara Guevara in the head.

The man was taken to a local hospital, where he died of his injuries on June 30. The incident occurred in Germantown, about 50 miles west of Baltimore.

It is believed that the dogs escaped through a hole in the fence and ended up on the neighbours’ land.

A witness to the deadly incident, Guevara Guevara’s daughter-in-law, Flor Flores, told the station she saw the victim being attacked from behind.

Flores told NBC Washington that they went to the neighboring land to apologize along with Guevara Guevara’s daughter, 10.

‘[The neighbor] then went and punched him on the side of his face and she was going to punch him again. But then I picked up my phone and answered it. He didn’t deserve that,” she said.

Footage has been released of the aftermath of the beating of Guevara Guevara, showing a group of adults arguing. The video was filmed by Flores. The clip begins after the fists start flying.

The husband of the woman involved in the brawl told a FoxDC reporter that the victim had been trespassing for more than a year.

Guevara’s wife, Sandra Beltran, said DC NewsNow that her husband did not raise his arms towards the victim and that he used them to cover his own head.

Beltran accused neighbors of hurling insults at Guevara when he came to apologize for the dogs. “He’s gone,” she told the channel, through tears.

She said the incident started when her daughter-in-law panicked and called Guevara Guevara to come home at the fateful moment when their neighbors had come to their house complaining about the dogs.

On June 25, Guevara Guevara woke from his coma and was discharged from the hospital and sent home to continue his recovery. A day later, he became extremely ill again and was returned to the hospital where he later died.

“I really thought my dad was going to make it. He’s a very strong man. Was a very strong man. My dad got hurt really bad,” Guevara said, according to Guevara’s son, Marvin Junior. FoxDC.

Marvin said he rushed home when he heard his father was in a fight. He said Guevara Guevara was “dizzy and struggling” after being punched multiple times.

“He was a great person; he was always smiling. He was always there for others — he always had a good heart,” Marvin Guevara Jr. said.

“This is just something that didn’t have to happen because of some dogs. We just want peace from everything. We just want things to be done right,” Flores added to the NBC affiliate.

A GoFundMe page was launched to help Guevara Guevara’s family. On that page, he is described as an avid churchgoer and originally from El Salvador.

His first grandchild was due to be born in August.

“I was like, ‘You’re going to teach her to walk,'” Flores said. “And he said, ‘I’m going to teach her to ride a horse,'” she added.

“My daughter draws pictures of my husband. She tells him, ‘Daddy, I will always love you.’ Our children were everything to him,” Beltran said.

At the time of writing, no charges have been filed for the death. On July 2, local police announced that an investigation had been launched.

Guevara Guevara’s cause of death has not been made public.
