It’s been a busy few months for Panthers superstar Nathan Cleary, who has been enjoying some well-earned rest and relaxation during the NRL off-season.

Fresh from leading Penrith to their fourth consecutive premiership title in October, Cleary jetted off to Europe to spend some time with his girlfriend Mary Fowler.

The Australian sporting power couple have shared several photos from their holiday, with the duo pictured traveling around the UK and heading further afield to Mallorca for a beach holiday.

Cleary also followed Fowler to Switzerland to watch the Matildas striker storm La Nati, posting pictures of himself enjoying a dip in a Swiss lake.

Since then, Cleary, 27, has returned from Europe and undergone surgery on a shoulder injury that has plagued him for the past two seasons.

Aiming to get back to full fitness as quickly as possible, he uses an unconventional recovery strategy that involves sea moss and sometimes a carnivore diet, which consists of four steaks a day and a serving of bone broth.

As he continues his recovery, the footy star appears to have recently taken a trip to Burleigh with his girlfriend Mary Fowler.

Cleary captioned the Instagram post, “Recharging the batteries, with Fowler commenting, “Hello handsome,” and added a “love letter” emoji.

It is believed it will take around three to four months before Cleary is fit enough to return to full training, but he has gradually increased his training load of late.

“The recovery will take about three to four months, so so far it’s been good,” he said.

“I’m slowly checking off the boxes, and after Christmas it will increase again,” Cleary said.

“I’m a little ahead of schedule, which is cool.”

It comes after Fowler ruled himself out of the Matildas’ recent international matches against Brazil and Chinese Taipei in November.

In making the decision, Fowler said she needed to look after her mental and physical wellbeing after a busy start to the 2024-25 season with both the Matildas and Manchester City.

Since his return to action, Fowler has been in flying form for City, having scored against Leicester in the 4-0 win in the Women’s Super League two weeks ago.

She struck again on Sunday, scoring a penalty in the 2-1 defeat to Everton in the Women’s Super League.

Despite the defeat, City remain second in the WSL standings, six points behind Chelsea, who occupy the top step of the table, and one point ahead of Arsenal.

City are in European action on Wednesday evening, with Fowler’s side traveling to take on Barcelona in the Champions League before the winter break.
