Martine McCutcheon has made a surprise return to her pop career as she stars in a brand new advert for Lidl.

The former EastEnders actress, 48, previously topped the charts thanks to her 1999 debut hit Perfect Moment after turning her back on the BBC soap, with Martine going on to have a fairly successful music career.

But after several years out of the spotlight, the star is set to wow fans again as she joins forces with the supermarket chain for an exciting new project.

Looking stunning in a sparkling silver jumpsuit, Martine proves her singing is still strong as she belts out a hilarious remix of Gina G’s classic ’90s song Ooh Aah… Just A Little Bit.

In the fun video clip, Martine is also joined by some iconic guests including Charity Shop Sue, Traitors star Diane Carson and Hunsnet founder Gareth Mowles.

Martine is clearly in her element, parading down the aisles with a leopard-print lined shopping cart, while accompanied by a pair of handsome male store clerks who act as her backup dancers.

The remix of the classic pop song, aptly titled (Ooh Aah) Just a Lidl Bit, features hilarious lyric changes, including the lines: ‘With Lidl Plus, I’m in love, a better app I could never find, you lead the way and save the day.’

As well as starring in the video, Martine has also been announced as the celebrity host for the Live, Laugh, Lidl’ Drag Brunches, with a special appearance from Martine’s fellow EastEnders alumnus Cheryl Fergison, aka Heather Trott.

Martine shared her joy at taking part in the campaign to promote the Lidl rewards program and brunches: ‘I’m SO excited to be joining Gareth on stage as part of the Live, Laugh, Lidl Brunches, and I CAN’T wait for guests to witness the very first performance of the song!

“From getting my hands on all the sparkling rosé I could ask for, to living out my down-the-middle aisle fantasies in the music video, it’s been incredible to be part of the action, and I know people across the country will absolutely love what we have in store!’

It comes after Martine returned to social media for some ‘much-needed self-care’ after a five-day break.

In August, the TV personality revealed that the 40-year-old singer had left her after 18 years together – days after she wrote a heartfelt birthday tribute for him.

Martine took to Instagram on Tuesday and updated fans after being absent from the app for a few days.

Martine shared a selfie in her winter warmers, wearing a fluffy faux sheepskin jacket with leather trims and a black hat.

She wrote: ‘Hello!! I’m not sure if I’ve been here or not! I’ve been so busy! Just a minute to myself for some much needed self-care.

‘Thank you for your beautiful skin work @drsenna. I’ve had so many great messages. Thank you.! I’m trying to read them all.’

She pointed to her large jacket and added, “PS: Is it me? Or do I look like I’m being swallowed up by the coat?’
