Martin Scorsese shows glimpse inside his NYC home which features classic film posters, a director’s chair and rare movie memorabilia in heartwarming TikTok with daughter

Oscar-winning director Martin Scorsese has appeared in a heartwarming TikTok with his filmmaker daughter Francesca.

In the clip, the pair give viewers a tour of their childhood home as they reenact a version of TikToks’ popular “I’m a… Natural…” trend.

In a playful video, Francesca starts the tour in a hallway full of movie posters.

“We’re movie buffs – of course we have movie posters all over the house,” she says with a smile, before her father, who is on the frame, intervenes out of sight.

‘Now do that again. There must be more…’ jokes 81-year-old Scorsese, as he directs his own daughter around the corner.

He instructs her, “You are proud of these posters. You are happy with these posters,” hoping that Francesca can deliver the line with power in a second take.

“Of course there are movie posters all over our house,” she says enthusiastically as she walks across a black-and-white marble tiled floor.

‘That’s too big! Take it down. A little bit in between,” Scorsese shouts, unable to suppress his stage directions, even to his own daughter.

“Dad… it’s a TikTok!” Francesca says nonchalantly.

The TikTok, which has already racked up more than 1.8 million views, is one of several videos the father and daughter have appeared in together in recent months – and has introduced him to a whole new generation of potential fans in the process. .

Scorsese has been directing for 56 years after directing his first feature film in 1967.

The light-hearted TikToks show a very different side of the legendary director whose films are known for their haunting and violent themes.

But Francesca seems to have influenced her father to get on social media so the public can see a different side of him.

Scorsese now has his own Instagram account with almost 2 million followers, where the public can watch him at work while catching a glimpse of family photos or even his dogs.

In the TikTok, Scorsese continues, “We’re movie buffs — so of course we have a few cameras around anyway,” he says, taking the time to show off an old-fashioned movie camera.

The camera is an early 20th century Hollywood film camera with four lenses on a sturdy wooden tripod.

“We are film lovers – of course we have a director’s chair,” Francesca then says, this time showing off a typical director’s chair with Scorsese’s name on the back.

At the back hangs a baseball cap with the family name embroidered on the side.

“We’re movie buffs – of course we have a DVD player,” says Francesca cheekily as she ironically shows off some DVDs, holding up copies of the 1962 film Il Sorpasso (titled The Easy Life in English), the American drama from 1956 Bigger Than Life and a copy of the 1964 Bernardo Bertolucci film Before the Revolution.

“We’re movie buffs, so of course we have some movie memorabilia around,” Scorsese says in the next scene as he takes viewers from a room with a bookcase stacked to the brim to a shelf full of other trinkets.

‘Like these… the original red shoes from the 1949 film The Red Shoes – but now they’re being loaned out for an exhibition somewhere. Sorry!’ Scorsese says, pointing to an empty display case.

The film received eleven Academy nominations that year, including Best Picture, while Scorsese received a Golden Globe for Best Director.
