Martha Stewart claimed in a new interview that former girlfriend Ina Garten stopped speaking to her after she went to prison.
The homemaking expert, 83, appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Sunday, where she discussed rumors surrounding her friendship with the famous American celebrity chef, 76.
While both culinary legends agree that their friendship soured in the early 2000s, they differ on the reasons for their falling out.
Garten previously claimed they simply lost touch when Stewart – who attended the premiere of her Netflix documentary Martha on Monday – moved away.
However, Stewart told Cohen that her friend stopped speaking to her after she was sentenced to prison in 2004.

Cohen asked Stewart — who was joined on the show by Snoop Dogg — if she had read Garten’s new memoir, Be Ready When the Luck Happens.
“I’ve read parts of it,” she replied.
After he asked if she had “read the parts about yourself,” she said, “Oh yes.”
“What was your opinion?” Andy asked.
“She can write whatever she wants,” Martha replied.
After a confused Snoop asked what Ina had written, Andy explained, “Ina said they got into a fight because she moved to Connecticut.”
“That’s not true,” Stewart countered.
Meanwhile, Snoop added, “Martha doesn’t argue with people.”
Stewart then claimed that two people stopped talking “after I went to jail.”
“Yeah, ’cause look, that’s when I stepped in,” Snoop added humorously.

Stewart previously spoke about their feud in a New Yorker profile of Garten, saying, “When I was sent to Alderson Prison, she stopped talking to me. I found that extremely disturbing and extremely unkind.”
Later, her publicist told the magazine that she was “not bitter at all and there was no feud.”
Meanwhile, Garten “strongly” denied that Martha’s prison sentence had anything to do with their disagreement.
Stewart and Garten met in the 1990s while living in the Hamptons.
Garten contributed a column to Martha Stewart Living, while Stewart played a key role in landing Garten’s first book deal by bringing a publisher to Garten’s specialty store, The Barefoot Contessa.
Martha spent five months in prison in 2004 after being found guilty of conspiracy and obstruction of justice, among other charges, in connection with the stock sale.
On Monday, Martha wowed while attending the premiere of her Netflix documentary, titled Martha, at the Paris Theater in New York City.
She wore a lavender zip-up jacket, metallic silver pants and peep-toe high heels. The star was joined by Sting’s wife, Trudie Styler, 70, who cut an elegant figure in a cream coat and skirt.
Designer Tory Burch, 58, was also in attendance, looking chic as ever in an oversized black coat with a gold belt buckle.
Jamie Tisch, 56, wore a beaded snakeskin coat and matching heels for the occasion.

The upcoming documentary – out on Netflix on October 30 – follows Martha all the way from her teenage years to becoming the first self-made female billionaire in the United States.

The upcoming documentary follows the lifestyle icon all the way from her teenage years, when she worked as a model, to becoming the first self-made female billionaire in the United States, as per Netflix’s press release.
The film also “highlights Stewart’s working-class upbringing and forces us to reconsider the scandal that sent her to prison.”
‘I was a trophy for these idiots. I was dragged to an isolation cell, without food or water. Those prosecutors should have been put in a Cuisinart and put on edge,” Martha says in the trailer.
The documentary can be seen on Netflix from October 30.
