With Halloween now in the rearview mirror and the holidays fast approaching, Martha Stewart makes a plea to Christmas-obsessed Mariah Carey not to forget the Thanksgiving holiday.
During a performance on Today, the founder of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, 81, called Carey, 52, by name to ask her not to jump straight from Halloween to Christmas, which is her track record over the years.
“Mariah, you know me, I’m a traditionalist with a twist. And you can’t give up Thanksgiving just because you don’t like turkey,” Stewart, 81, said, looking into the camera, adding, “I love turkey, and many, many other people love turkey. So don’t think we’re giving up Thanksgiving just because you say so.’

The Today show then posted the clip of Stewart’s plea to the five-time Grammy-winning singer on its Twitter page.
“You can’t give up Thanksgiving!” @MarthaStewart makes a plea to @MariahCarey to slow down her role after the singer posted a video on social media celebrating the end of Halloween and moving straight into Christmas,” the tweet read. “Mariah, what do you say?”
It wasn’t long before Carey responded with a tweet of her own, including an invite to her Thanksgiving party.
‘Dear Martha!! NEVER will I give up Thanksgiving!! But we can still get into the festive spirit now!’ wrote the legendary crooner.

She ended up hinting at getting an invite to her turkey day party, especially if a certain rap legend will be in attendance.

Stewart’s fun and playful comments to Carey came just two days after she posted a black and white video to Instagram showing her dressed as a witch.
In the clip to haunting music, she cries and laughs like a traditional witch, pedaling the exercise bike as pages of the last days of October fly around her.
As soon as it reaches November 1, Carey shouts in her high-pitched singing voice, “IT’S TIIIIIIIIIME!!!!!!! , which she also documented in the caption on Instagram, along with the hashtag #MariahSZN.”

Last year, Carey starred in an ad promoted as “a Merry Christmas in July” during those hot summer months of July.
And instead of riding a stationary bike in a witch costume like she just did this week, the New York City native got all decked out in festive red and smashed a row of pumpkins to signal she’s ready to go beyond. Halloween and straight to the Christmas.

In addition to singing the iconic Christmas carol, Carey has directed and starred in her own Hallmark film and starred in a Christmas special for Apple TV+ over the years.
Only time will tell what Carey has in store for her 11.3 million Instagram fans and followers in the run-up to Christmas Day this year.
