Viewers were moved by Married At First Sight groom Ash Galati’s revelation in Monday’s episode that his brother had suffered an untimely death.

Ny Breaking Australia can now reveal his brother, Peter, was fatally injured in a violent altercation with a former best friend in Melbourne’s north in 2021.

Police allege a dispute on Mahoneys Rd in Reservoir quickly escalated at around 4.30pm on December 6, resulting in Peter, 44, suffering injuries which proved fatal.

He was treated by ambulance personnel, but died at the scene.

Police said in their statement at the time of the incident that one man had suffered injuries to his ‘lower body’.

Authorities acted quickly and arrested a 44-year-old Reservoir man suspected of the murder.

After being treated for head injuries, the suspect was charged with one count of murder.

The legal proceedings are ongoing, leaving the Galati family in painful limbo as they wait for justice for Peter.
