Married high school football coach admits disgusting crimes with students in shocking court appearance

A married high school football coach filmed himself raping an underage student, urinating on her and sexually assaulting her while she was tied up, a court heard.

Antwone Washingotn, 45, appeared in court Wednesday to face claims that he abused the girl while he worked at Valley High School in Las Vegas.

The court was told how police found four videos of Washington sexually assaulting the girl, including one clip of him urinating on his alleged victim.

Another saw him rape her from behind while the youth was gagged, tied up and passed out, it was said.

One of the videos was filmed in Washington’s office, which was in the boys’ locker room at Valley High, a judge was told.

Washington’s alleged victim was under 16 years old but over 14 years old at the time of the alleged crimes.

The teacher – who allegedly admitted to having three girlfriends – was charged with nine crimes, including production of child pornography, statutory sexual enticement, kidnapping and sexual solicitation.

Washington, who was the head football coach and campus security monitor, appeared virtually in court Wednesday, where he admitted to having a sexual relationship with a minor and other disturbing acts.

During a hearing, Clark County Chief Deputy District Attorney William Rowles explained Washington’s confession to Las Vegas police. Washington admitted to taking explicit photos of several students, including one in a thong.

He also admitted to having a disturbing fetish for role-playing games where “these girls are at his house and he’s their ‘daddy.’

An arrest report obtained by 8 News Now revealed that Washington wrote an apology letter.

His bail was set at $100,000. The case was transferred to the Henderson Justice Court to avoid potential conflicts of interest.

The former coach made contact with the minor victim through her boyfriend. After connecting over Instagram earlier this year, their relationship escalated into a sexual relationship.

According to the prosecutor, school staff had observed other instances of inappropriate behavior from Washington, including extended hugs with students.

Given the seriousness of the charges and the risk to the community, the prosecutor has requested bail of $500,000 for Washington.

“I think it speaks volumes about Mr. Washington’s standing within our community when he committed these crimes,” Rowles said. “For someone to be put in the position that he is and betray that trust, I think it speaks volumes about his danger in our community.”

During a jailhouse phone call, Washington expressed concerns to his wife about possible prison sentences. The prosecution alleges that Washington made statements implying suicide.

“The issue is not whether Mr. Washington is convicted in this case. It’s not about whether he goes to jail,” Rowles said. “It’s just a matter of what he was convicted of and how long he’s in prison.”

Washington's attorney, Tyler Gaston, argued that Washington's intentions were purely mentorship and that he was not a flight risk or danger to the community.

Washington attorney Tyler Gaston painted a different picture of his client. Gaston argued that Washington’s intentions were purely mentorship and that he was not a flight risk or danger to the community.

He emphasized Washington’s strong ties to the community and his lack of a criminal history, and called for his release on his own recognizance.

Gaston questioned the seriousness of the charges against Washington, arguing that his client had already confessed to police and accepted responsibility. He pointed to Nevada state law, which suggests that those facing serious sex crimes are often released on their own recognizance.

Gaston further claimed that there was no evidence of sexual assault and that the investigation stemmed from a situation where the teenage victim had sex with the father of her 16-year-old boyfriend.

He also highlighted the teen’s initial reluctance to identify Washington, suggesting she was concerned about the impact on his family.

The defense emphasized that the age of consent in Nevada is 16 and that the alleged victim was younger than that age. However, the specific details of the relationship and the nature of the actions involved remain central to the case.

Authorities compared the physical characteristics of the man in the video to the marks on Washington’s body, resulting in a match.

The teenage girl initially declined to identify Washington because he had a wife and children.

According to the arrest report, the former coach allegedly took the teen to his car in the school parking lot and sexually assaulted her.

According to Gaston, Washington admitted to having a polygamous relationship with three girlfriends.

The high school principal reported to police that Washington had recently told another teacher about attending a swingers’ retreat.

Gibson ordered Washington placed under house arrest, with restrictions on contact with the alleged victim, minors and Clark County School District property.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for December 16.
