A British businessman from Hong Kong has been charged with murder after his housekeeper was found dead at the bottom of a waterfall.
The 34-year-old unnamed man and his wife were both arrested at West Kowloon Train Station on Tuesday in connection with the crime.
According to police, the suspect went to Waterfall Bay Park in Pok Fu Lam with the victim at around 11pm on Sunday, but about 40 minutes later the Brit was seen running into a taxi alone.
The housekeeper, a 25-year-old woman from Indonesia, was found floating in the water at the bottom of the waterfall around 7 a.m. on Monday morning.
It is believed she drowned after suffering serious head injuries South China Morning Mail reported, and preliminary examinations also revealed minor injuries to her extremities.

A married British businessman from Hong Kong has been charged with murder after his housekeeper was found dead at the bottom of a waterfall in Waterfall Bay Park on Monday morning.
According to local media, the British man and his Hong Kong-born wife settled there after their marriage and lived in the Hong Kong residential area of South Horizons, where they ran a small business together.
Officers are now investigating whether the victim was drunk.
The man’s 36-year-old wife, who was reportedly a Hong Kong resident, was arrested on suspicion of assisting the suspect but was later released on bail.
Police have confirmed that the man will appear in the Eastern Magistrate’s Court tomorrow, while his wife will have to report to police at the end of next month.
