Married At First Sight’s Shannon Adams admits she made cruel comments to Caitlin McConville ‘just to hurt her’ because she’s a ‘monster’
Married At First Sight’s Shannon Adams has revealed the selfish reason he made cruel comments to his wife Caitlin McConville during Sunday night’s episode.
The 30-year-old personal trainer told Caitlin that it “doesn’t look good in her eyes” during an intimacy assignment on Tuesday.
During the commitment ceremony, relationship expert John Aiken asked Shannon, “Why did you feel the need to say all those things to Caitlin?”
‘I really don’t have an answer for you… I said them just to hurt her. I’m really sorry I did this. I’m gutted,’ she replied.
“I’m really sorry, but I want to stay,” Shannon added before revealing her decision to stay in the experiment.

John then asked, ‘Shannon, you’re not making a lot of sense. Why would you want to stay after the cruel treatment?’
“I don’t want to give up,” Shannon said.
You’ve been 100 percent focused on giving up this week. It’s been obvious every chance you get that you’ve been trying to push her away and hurt her. Why should we believe you now that you’re going to change? John questioned.
Shannon explained: ‘I need to listen to her and take into account what she says. In fact, I want to have a longer week so we can end up being friends.
“I’d love to give her a hug, but I’d have to take baby steps and I really don’t think she wants that because I’m a monster.”

On Tuesday night’s episode, Shannon cruelly told Caitlin that “it doesn’t look good in her eyes.”
After the Make Eyes task, Caitlin felt that Shannon had “done a 180” and was being “emotionally distant”, so she decided to confront him about it.
When she asked Shannon what had changed, he said: ‘You’re an attractive girl, but not in my eyes.
‘I thought you were going to come down that hallway and completely blow my mind.’
‘I really don’t have an answer for you… I said them just to hurt her. I’m really sorry I did this. I’m gutted,’ she replied.
He then said that if Caitlin was courting him, he would have cut things off with his ex in the first place.
At the time, Caitlin was too “stunned” to react, but after processing it all, she burst into tears.
“I feel sick,” she yelled at the cameras.
