Married At First Sight’s Lucinda Light has proven she still has a lot of love for her groom Timothy Smith by paying a touching tribute to the property mogul this week.
In a letter to Smith and on Instagram, Lucinda said she admired his ability to make people laugh as they dealt with the pain of losing loved ones, and thanked him for showing other men that there was nothing is wrong with expressing their emotions.
Smith’s mother died and his brother took his own life while spending more than a year behind bars in the US for drug trafficking several years ago. His father also died just weeks before he started filming the Channel Nine show.
‘Dear Timbo, That’s a shawl! What a thrill! What I appreciate most about you, Tim, is your ability to make those around you laugh, even in the midst of your own pain and loss. Your courage during our time together was amazing!’ Lucinda began her note.
“You opened up your vulnerable side and showed men everywhere that it’s not okay to bottle it up! Despite your ‘Tin Man’ facade, I see the enormous heart you carry.”

The bride continued, “I’m incredibly proud of you, and I’m sure your mother Varee and brother Dave would be too, looking down on you from above.”
“You have shown real courage and authenticity and you are a legend. Too many men suffer in silence, and it’s time we change that paradigm. We should celebrate men who are outspoken and willing to show their emotions. That’s the new SEXY!
“I have watched you make tremendous progress on our journey together, and I hope you continue on your path of healing. True salvation and inner peace come from letting go, forgiving, and letting love flow freely.”

Lucinda and Timothy thrilled viewers during Monday night’s Reunion Grand Finale when they revealed they had continued to forge their bond after leaving the show.
The pair told their castmates and the show’s relationship experts that they have stayed in touch and grown closer after a rocky start in the experiment.
“We still talk every few days. We are well on the right track. It is awesome. So there is hope, yes that’s for sure,” he said.
