And while her career flourished, her social life took a hit.

Selina says people from Sydney are just not as friendly as other Aussies, and she found it difficult to make friends in Harbor City.

‘I used to have great friends and a bad love life. Now I’m in a great relationship, but hardly any close friends,” she explained.

Selina admitted that the friendships she formed on the show were crucial, given the lack of emotional support after filming.

β€œYou need at least one person you can trust,” she said.

‘It was a huge change, from a full-time job and stable friends to an influencer and podcaster in a new city.

“It’s hard to know who is sincere and who is pursuing their own agenda.”

But the move also brought personal growth for Selina.

β€œI honestly think everyone should try moving to a new place at least once,” she added.

‘You can always go back home, but sometimes you find a new home, like me.’

Looking back on her time on MAFS, Selina admitted that watching herself on TV made her reconsider her self-image.

Known for her striking bleach blonde hair and bold fashion choices, Selina confessed that she once relied on trends like colored contact lenses to feel confident.

‘I used to think I had to be blonde and blue-eyed to be confident. But now I embrace my natural look. It has been empowering,” she said.

‘It was confronting to see myself again on TV. Sometimes I didn’t even recognize myself.’

The transition to the world of influencers was also not a cakewalk.

‘You need a thick skin in this industry. Everyone is busy, and not everyone has your back,” she explained. ‘You have to be confident and push yourself.’

Selina said she had to overcome her social anxiety by attending events and talking to new people.

β€œThe first year I made it my goal to attend every event and talk to someone new. It really helped me grow,” she explained.

Despite the challenges, Selina believes her authenticity has kept her in the spotlight.

β€œI never went to MAFS to be famous; I really wanted to find love. β€œI think that’s why I’ve lasted so long in the media world: people can tell if you’re real,” she insisted.

Her podcast Back to Reality was also a hit, but Selina recently decided to take a break from it and admitted that the ongoing drama became overwhelming.

‘It started to drain me. β€œI love supporting others, but the drama surrounding the show was too much,” she said.
