Married At First Sight’s Alyssa Barmonde reveals plans to flee Australia after losing her job

EXCLUSIVE: Married At First Sight’s Alyssa Barmonde Reveals Plans To Flee Australia After Losing Her Job Due To Her Villain Edit On The Show

Alyssa Barmonde of Married At First Sight has shared her plans to move abroad after losing her job over her role as the “bad guy” on the hit reality show.

The heartbroken single mother, 35, is taking a holiday “to reset and think about her next steps.”

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia on Tuesday, a friend revealed: ‘Alyssa is planning a holiday. She’s been unhappy since the show aired and just needs to relax.”

She really just wants to move on and forget she was ever on the show. It’s been completely unfair. What we saw on television was not her,” the friend added.

This dramatic turn of events comes after Alyssa lost her job as an executive assistant, a position she held for seven years.

Speak against The Daily Telegraphpointed out to Barmonde the ‘coincidence’ that he was fired two weeks after the broadcast of the MAFS final.

During the second half of the season, Alyssa was portrayed in a negative light, with edited scenes focusing on her emotional outbursts, abuse from husband Duncan James, and frequent use of her single mother status to justify her actions.

However, the ex-Mormon insists this depiction was one-sided and unfair, arguing that many of her clashes with Duncan, from whom she split at final vows, lacked proper on-screen context.

Alyssa lost her job after being portrayed as a “bad guy” last season. The single mother, from Sydney’s Northern Beaches, commented that it was ‘coincidence’ that she was fired two weeks after the final aired

She confessed that she had been going through a “really dark… couple of months” while the show was airing and that she had to stop watching after the couples’ retreat because “I could see what the montage was.”

Alyssa revealed she was harassed by viewers who tracked down her mobile number and business accounts and received “the meanest messages.”

She asked Channel Nine’s publicity department to give her access to her Instagram account so she could contest the story of the show’s editing, but they denied the request until the season has aired in the UK.

Alyssa, an ex-Mormon who hails from Utah, insists her portrayal was one-sided and unfair, adding that many of her clashes with Duncan lacked proper on-screen context.

The mother of a child from Northern Beaches was poorly edited during the second half of the season, with scenes highlighting her emotional outbursts, abusing her husband Duncan James (left) and constantly using “I have a child” as an excuse for her bad behavior

“They’re protecting the show and the story they’ve created, rather than letting me have my own voice,” she claimed.

Alyssa feels hurt and betrayed by producers after watching the series and seeing all the problems in her relationship with Duncan due to her single parent status.

She is assisted by her therapist, whom she has been seeing for 20 years, for sessions three times a week, and has “upped” the dosage of her anxiety medication.

A new season of Married At First Sight is currently in pre-production.
