Ella Morgan has revealed she almost quit Celebs Go Dating just hours after filming.
The reality star, 29, who became the first transgender bride on the British version of Married At First Sight UK, was ‘excited’ to sign up for the E4 show but found pursuing romance in front of the cameras had ‘triggered’ her ‘. .
She said on Instagram Stories: ‘I’m really excited about this journey, but I almost quit recently. It just became so much.
‘It was quite triggering. I don’t know what I expected. I thought it was going to be a bit of a breeze and a walk in the park.
“This is definitely more of a solo journey than MAFS. With Celebs Go Dating you find out what you are doing right, what you are doing wrong, what you need to work on.’

Ella explained that taking part in the E4 dating show is more of a ‘solo’ experience than MAFS, but she doesn’t want to use her platform to only talk about her transition, which she started at the age of 16.
She continued, “This is definitely more of a solo journey than MAFS. With Celebs Go Dating you discover what you are doing right, what you are doing wrong, what you need to work on.
‘It all has to do with certain things and obviously my transition plays a big role in that, but I don’t just want my therapist to talk about my transition, I want to talk about life.’
Ella has been supported by the E4 therapists throughout her journey on the show and although she remained tight-lipped about what exactly happened, she insisted she was done with her attempts to ‘prove herself’ as a woman.
She said: ‘Filming is going so fast, that’s why I’m thinking, ‘Wow, what else is coming out?’ How else am I supposed to think about myself?’
“I think this all stems from the brunch the other day. Obviously I’m not going to go into details; that’s probably not allowed and I don’t want to get in trouble.
‘I can’t just work on myself for the rest of my life.
‘Over the past year I’ve been working on myself and finding my happiness, but when I started dating I realized that I do a few things… I’m trying to prove myself as a woman, as a girl to people, and I do Don’t have to do that anymore…’
Ella will be one of the contestants on the upcoming series of Celebs Go Dating, and has a long history of being the first transgender contestant

She concluded: “Now I’m going to have to be completely vulnerable and be myself, and that’s not just crazy, loud, fun Ella. I’m obviously a lot more serious and tame.’
Ella made history as the first transgender contestant on Celebs Go Dating, and her time on MAFS saw her famously couple with JJ Slater, Katie Price’s current boyfriend.
Katie was left ‘betrayed’ by Katie when the ex-glamour model stole her ex and Katie is now said to be nervous about what Ella will reveal.
Other stars who may be joining the show include Made in Chelsea’s Tristan Phipps and Love Island OG Hannah Elizabeth.
