Chaos broke out on the British show Married At First Sight after one of the contestants was accused of assault.

The hugely popular series returns to E4 on September 16 with a brand new set of brides and grooms, the line-up of which was announced earlier this week.

But after sharing photos of the line-up on Instagram, bosses were criticised for allowing a “domestic abuser” onto the show.

A groom, Alex Henry, has been inundated with accusations from social media users after his video was shared online, with The sun obtaining comments shared by a user who made the allegations.

One person commented: ‘@alexander.henry_ should never have been on this show.’

The hugely popular series is returning to E4 with a brand new set of brides and grooms and announced the line-up earlier this week

She added: ‘In situations where people are married at first sight, it is absolutely not acceptable to allow a domestic abuser onto the show.

“I have seen first hand the damage this man has caused. Something needs to be done about this. @e4mafsuk @e4grams domestic abusers should NOT be given platforms.”

Another wrote: ‘This is why background checks should ALWAYS be done and previous partners etc contacted, the trauma he caused other women can be passed on to someone you allowed to be on your show. Do better next time.’

A spokesperson for MAFS UK said: ‘MAFS UK contributors are subject to a rigorous background check, including multiple independent psychological evaluations and a criminal record check, before being allowed to take part.

“We select candidates based on the information we legally have access to and we continue to evaluate this process to ensure the checks are as thorough as legally possible.”

Sacha is 29 and from Birmingham. She is described as ‘a daddy’s girl who will do anything to impress her dad’. She has been competing in beauty pageants since she was six and was even crowned Miss Birmingham in 2018.

The hopeful bride has only had one long-term relationship, which lasted three years.

She had been single for the past nine months and decided to live a celibate life until the right man came along.

Sacha is also an avid kickboxer and comes from a competitive family. Being a go-getter is in her blood and that drives her to be as ambitious as possible.

Meanwhile, 32-year-old Ross from Manchester has become the first deaf contestant to appear on the E4 show.

Ross was born deaf and wears two hearing aids, but he has never let this define who he is and what he wants to do in life.

He played for deaf club Everton and was scouted for Team GB test matches at the age of 17, before being confirmed for England’s first deaf team.

He played all over the world until he stopped two years ago to be closer to home for his daughter, whom he calls the center of his universe.
