Married At First Sight stars confess their secrets as they hitch a ride with Daily Mail reporter

I never thought I’d find myself as the designated driver for the Married At First Sight stars, but for the third year in a row I’m their go-to guy for transportation.

And I can tell you, it was a wild ride!

I transported this year’s cast across town, picked them up from the airport, took them for Macca’s runs and made sure they got home safely after a crazy night out on the town.

My trusty dash cam was there to capture all of their excited banter, giving me a front row seat to the inner world of MAFS (and their minds).

This year, no fewer than 15 cast members, including Harrison Boon, Evelyn Ellis, Melinda Willis, Layton Mills, Cam Woods, Ollie Skelton, Tahnee Cook, Duncan James and Claire Nomar, will be hitching a ride in my beat-up Toyota.

Josh White, Jesse Burford and Janelle Han were also driven around town.

Here’s a glimpse of what happened during my unforgettable encounters with the MAFS stars.

Taylor Winter

Hobart-based 'nightmare' Tayla was the first cast member to ask for a lift, and to my surprise, it happened just days after she moved into the Skye suites

The 27-year-old nurse arrived late, felt overwhelmed by filming and just needed a friend.

She was sweet, funny and incredibly appreciative – so it was a surprise to see her cop work the bad guy.

The quartet had their suspicions about hitchhiking with me, but finally gave in because there were no Ubers around.

The group laughed and whispered secrets to each other, occasionally sharing some juicy gossip about their fellow castmates as I dropped them off at an art gallery.

I don’t think they were impressed with my driving style and instead decided to take taxis back to their hotel.

They enjoyed talking about their time at MAFS, sharing stories of the challenges they faced and the friendships they formed.

It was clear that they had all become very close during the filming of the show.

Sandy’s biggest regret – and it doesn’t go on the show

Sandy explained that going on the show has been incredibly difficult for her family, but they were there in her darkest moments.

She admitted that while she regretted meeting Dan, she would sign up again for another season of the show if given the chance.

Claire, meanwhile, confessed that she felt a little overwhelmed with all the attention she was getting from fans.

The 27-year-old kindergarten teacher admitted she wasn’t surprised by the “good edit” she received, as she had her heart in the right place and admitted her behavior.

She also revealed that she quit her job to focus on new opportunities that came her way, some of which had already started popping up.

The bubbly brunette said she loved getting offers over $3,000 to come to a restaurant or club and greet people.

She admitted that she was really on the show to maximize her chances… but who doesn’t love an honest go-getter who doesn’t mess around.

The stars and I would laugh at how close we are, as they walked away from me a few months earlier and refused to engage in conversation.

While their time on the show may be fleeting, the memories and friendships forged will no doubt last a lifetime.

And for me, the chance to be a part of their journey, even as their designated driver, was an experience I will never forget.
