Hugo Armstrong was out partying with his former Married At First Sight co-stars this weekend.

The 32-year-old was joined by Bronte Schofield, Alyssa Barmonde, Sandy Jawanda and Lyndall Grace.

The former reality star looked different from his time on the show, sporting a more buff and shaved appearance.

Earlier this year, the groom was said to be “absolutely furious” after gaining a whopping 4,000 new Instagram followers after appearing on the top-rated Channel Nine show.

Hugo started his search for love with 300 followers, but despite having plenty of screen time, this number had grown to just 4,269 by March.

He now sits at over 30,000 while his ex-wife Tayla Winter has 118,000 followers.

An anonymous cast member revealed that Hugo had high hopes of becoming famous and saw himself as the “new Al Perkins” – a popular groom from last year’s season.

Instead, he remained furious about his dismal popularity on social media.

“Even before he came on the show, all Hugo wanted was to be big, just like Al,” the insider told Daily Mail Australia.

He was convinced he was going to be the next fan favorite, and now he’s furious that he’s barely made a dent in the follower department.

“He desperately wanted to be the funny one, but when reality set in, his ego got a reality check.”

Hugo’s lackluster social media following has him overshadowed by his on-screen wife Tayla, who was recently at the center of a sexting scandal with co-star Cameron Woods.
