Married At First Sight star Daniel Holmes lashes out at Australia Day likening it to a violent home invasion: “What’s there to celebrate?”
Daniel Holmes lashed out on Australia Day after being questioned by fans during an Instagram Q&A on Thursday.
The 31-year-old Married At First Sight star has chimed in on the debate about changing the date of Australia Day and confirmed that she supports it.
The star, who usually avoids political debate on her social media, compared it to a violent home invasion.

‘What’s there to celebrate? I eat honestly,” she asked, rhetorically.
He then compared it to a home invasion that took place.
“It’s like a group of people breaking into a family’s house, raping the mother and killing family members. Then kick the rest of them out of their home and then every year on that day you say hurrah, look what he’s got,’ she said.
He went on to call his allegory an “understatement” for his followers.

It comes after Daniel split from Carolina Santos in August after the couple got together while filming Married At First Sight.
The star announced the news by sharing a statement on her Instagram account.

“I’m being bombarded a lot right now, considering that all the articles know directly about the state of Carolina and me,” he began.
He continued: ‘I think it’s been obvious for a while that we’ve gone our separate ways. ‘There is no right way to deal with these situations.
Daniel went on to talk about the pressures of being famous, and how the couple held back from going public “as long as possible” because of the “haters.”
Daniel, 31, confirmed the news of their separation, sharing a statement on his Instagram account.
He then offered kind words for his ex.
“I wish Carolina the best and I know she feels the same way about me,” he wrote.
“We had a unique experience together filled with every emotion possible, but life has a different plan for us.”
It comes just days after Carolina alluded to heartbreak in an Instagram post along with the worrying caption: “Smile and no one will see how broken you are inside.”
Carolina and Daniel were involved in one of the biggest scandals in Married At First Sight history last year.
They began dating when she was still technically “married” to her on-screen husband, Dion Giannarelli.
The couple went on several dates while the hapless Dion tried everything to make things work out with his selfless ‘wife’.
