Married At First Sight star Amanda Micallef criticized by non-binary drag queen for saying men shouldn’t be allowed in women’s bathrooms and using the wrong pronouns

Amanda Micallef made history with Married At First Sight when in 2020 she became the first ever lesbian bride to grace the popular series.

However, the 37-year-old personal trainer has now set fire to some parts of the LGBTQIA+ community after expressing her discomfort over biological men identifying as non-binary in women’s restrooms.

Micallef voiced her opinion in an Instagram post last year, but the post has now resurfaced after non-binary drag queen Pablo, who uses their pronouns, recorded a scathing video about it on social media.

In her original post, Micallef shared a photo of a female/non-binary bathroom door and wrote, “What do we think of a man who considers himself non-binary and walks into a female restroom? I think it’s a bad move for business.’

She added, “I mean, is that how I read this sign?” You might as well make gender-neutral toilets and really scare people off in a kid-friendly business.”

Micallef voiced her opinion in an Instagram post (pictured) last year, but the post has now resurfaced after non-binary drag queen Pablo shot a scathing video about it on social media.

This week, Pablo attacked Micallef for her opinion, criticizing her for using masculine pronouns for a non-binary person and labeling her an “F-grade reality star.”

Pablo also said the MAFS bride spread “right-wing rhetoric” by not wanting biological men in women’s restrooms and that she was “just an ally for women who are not transgender.”

“If you call someone non-binary HIM. . . It clearly shows that Amanda has no real idea of the non-binary experience, the non-binary identity and the use of neutral pronouns to deal with such a person,” Pablo complained.

It’s all a bad move for business and the kid-friendly aspect creates the assumption that Amanda believes that if male people presenting, who are non-binary, go to non-binary restrooms, then so be it. a threat to children, it’s a threat to women, whatever,” the artist continued.

“This is absolutely not based on reality, on any evidence, because at this point, a trans or non-binary person in a ‘women’s room’ can legally use that facility under the anti-discrimination law.”

Pablo then berated Amanda for having the “dare” to question gender neutral spaces.

“There seems to be a strange correlation between being an F-class reality TV star and somehow thinking you have the right — cut the sass — to question things like gender-neutral bathrooms. and thereby spread rhetoric that is so harmful. so hurtful and so blatantly right, without any evidence and thinking it’s fine,” they said.

Pablo later said they received a legal letter from Amanda demanding that they remove their video.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Amanda for comment.
