A swimmer has been pulled from the surf at one of Sydney’s main beaches.
Paramedics rushed to Maroubra beach at around 1.30pm on Monday after witnesses reported seeing a man in his 20s struggling in the water.
The man was swimming with two friends when the group fell into a rip before bystanders could reach them.

It is believed bystanders pulled the man from the water and attempted CPR before ambulances arrived and provided further treatment
The man, aged in his 20s, was rushed to Prince of Wales Hospital in an unknown condition
Surf Life Saving NSW said the man was unconscious when rescuers pulled him from the water and began performing CPR.
“Lifeguards and paramedics performed CPR before he started breathing again and regained a heartbeat,” Surf Life Saving NSW said.
“He left the beach, still unconscious, by ambulance.”
Paramedics rushed the man to Prince of Wales Hospital where he is now in a stable condition.
Maroubra Beach has been called ‘one of Sydney’s most dangerous’ by Beachsafe.
