Mark will run the London Marathon on April 23 with his mother Carol, father Mark and brother Josh.
Speaking about his preparations, he told MailOnline: ‘What you’re going through when you run alone can be taxing on the mind.
‘The moment you go up a hill, you have moments of weakness, you start to hit a wall. Mentally pushing yourself through that is constant work on your mind, which I think is great because if you have tough times in life, you need to know how to get through them.
And long-distance training is like that, it’s hard. It’s not fun to run so many kilometers, you’re not supposed to like it.
“You are in a marathon day with the noise and the fans, but the training is not to enjoy it, but it teaches you to be disciplined.”
