Actor Mark Ruffalo was forced to apologize after sharing fake AI-generated images of former President Donald Trump on disgraced pedophile Jeffrey Epstein's plane on social media.
Ruffalo, who lost the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor on Sunday night, posted the images last week.
He quoted the post on X from a user who claimed Trump took two separate flights to “Epstein Island.”
'Disgusting. #MAGA wants to portray everyone on those flights as pedophiles, except the one guy laughing in a group of young girls who are all going to Epstein's 'Fantasy Island' with him,” he wrote.
“I bet there are still some decent Republicans in America who might think this is going too far.”

However, it was soon discovered that the photos had been taken with the help of artificial intelligence.
As X's community notes showed, the shadows in one of the photos did not match the people in the images.
Also, in one of the photos, Trump's suit jacket is blurred on one side and on the other side a girl is missing one of her arms.
Ruffalo apologized, but not without criticizing X CEO Elon Musk for the way the actor believes he runs the platform.
'Sorry folks. Apparently these images are AI fakes. The fact that Trump was on Epstein's plane and what Epstein planned to do is not,” he wrote.
'Be careful. Elon's
Recent court papers continue to suggest links between Trump and Epstein.
Trump regularly visited Jeffrey Epstein at his Palm Beach mansion, Epstein's housekeeper testified — but he never got massages or stayed overnight, and always ate his meals with the staff in the kitchen.
Juan Alessi's 2009 deposition was made public Friday as part of the third tranche of documents released by a Manhattan judge. The documents were part of a 2015 defamation lawsuit filed by one of Epstein's victims, Virginia Roberts-Giuffre, against Epstein's right-hand man, Ghislaine Maxwell.
Alessi, who worked for Epstein from about 1990 to 2002, was asked whether Trump — whose Mar-a-Lago home is less than two miles from Epstein's waterfront complex — has ever spent the night.
“No, never,” Alessi replied.
Alessi continued, “He was supposed to come for dinner. He never sat at the table. He eats in the kitchen with me.'
The lawyer asked Alessi whether Trump has ever had massages at Epstein's home.
'No. Because he has his own spa,” Alessi replied.
Trump has never been accused of any wrongdoing, and he and Epstein fell out in 2004 over a real estate deal in Palm Beach.

And in 1997, the couple was photographed at a Victoria's Secret party in New York City.

Epstein, according to VanityFairclaimed to have introduced the Slovenian-born model to Trump.
'I've known Jeff for fifteen years. Great guy,” Trump told New York magazine in 2002.
'It's a lot of fun to hang out with him. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side. There's no doubt about it: Jeffrey enjoys his social life.'
After Epstein was arrested in July 2019, Trump said he only knew Epstein because “everyone in Palm Beach” did.

Trump said he had not spoken to Epstein “in 15 years” because of “an argument.”
