- Channel Seven’s Spotlight boss is leaving the network
- Mark Llewellyn has led the show since 2020
The head of Channel Seven’s flagship Spotlight program has left the network after a whistleblower made explosive allegations.
Mark Llewellyn, executive producer of Spotlight since 2020, surrendered his security pass on Wednesday evening.
His resignation comes in the wake of the network’s exclusive interview with accused rapist Bruce Lehrmann that aired in June 2023.
The interview was set up by ex-producer Taylor Auerbach who later blasted Seven for what he considered unethical methods of gaining access to Mr. Lehrmann.
Mr Auerbach alleged that Seven reimbursed Mr Lehrmann for cocaine and sex workers in the lead-up to his interview.
Mr Llewellyn will not return to his position and has hired lawyer John Laxon to negotiate his severance package.

Mr Llewellyn’s departure was first reported by The Australian and is the first major development since Mr. Auerbach’s claims.
