Shark Tank star Mark Cuban admitted he made a “mistake” last week when he said Donald Trump is never seen “around strong, intelligent women.”
During an appearance on The View, the 66-year-old billionaire spoke about the US presidential election, sparking an angry response from both the former president’s inner circle and Trump’s supporters following his comments.
Speaking exclusively to DailyMail.com, Cuban – who recently revealed what he buys when he shops at Target – shared his thoughts on the backlash, saying: ‘It’s part of politics, it was my fault and I apologized for it. I certainly didn’t say anything negative about anyone who supported Trump.”
When asked what his wife of 22 years thought of his comments, Cuban added, “Tiffany watched the entire interview and had no problem with it. She knew what I was trying to say.
“She also knows that if I do hundreds of interviews, there will be a few that I mess up. I’ve botched many more Mavs interviews that got me fined by the NBA. So she’s kind of used to it,” he added, referring to his time as owner of the Dallas Mavericks.

One person in particular who publicly disapproved of Cuban was Trump’s senior adviser Alina Habba, who took to social media to complain, saying his “nasty comments” were “a shame.”
When asked what he thought of Alina’s reaction, Cuban said, “I didn’t feel it one way or the other. She is clearly smart and passionate about her candidate, as she should be.”
On November 1, Cuban responded to the massive backlash on X, formerly known as Twitter, posting, “When I said this during the interview, I didn’t deliver it exactly the way I thought I did.
“So I apologize to anyone who felt slighted or upset by my response. Like I said, it wasn’t about Trump’s voters, supporters or employees. Current or former, I prepared myself for the 6-second soundbite. No excuses. I can’t capture every interview.
‘My skin is thick enough. What bothers me, however, is that so many comments or media, supporting or opposing me, involve a certain degree of insult. Not just here. But everywhere.
‘I don’t blame anyone. We are where we are. I hope this changes at least a little bit within a week. In the spirit of joy… I have to add that all the AI memes of me with the long hair are driving me crazy. So there is something positive!’ he added.
During his brief stint on The View, Cuban told the panel, which also included Whoopi Goldberg, “Donald Trump – you never see him around strong, intelligent women. It’s that simple.’
‘It’s just that simple. They are intimidating to him. He doesn’t like to be challenged by them,” Cuban added.

Host Joy Behar disagreed, saying even Stormy Daniels was “smart,” and others were quick to attack the Shark Tank co-host.
Trump’s campaign immediately seized on the comments as evidence to support its claim that Democrats, including Kamala Harris, despise voters who support the former president.
Trump’s national press secretary Karoline Leavitt said the comments were “extremely offensive to the thousands of women who work for President Trump, and the tens of millions of women who proudly voted for him.”
“Joe Biden called Trump supporters trash, and now Kamala’s top surrogate Mark Cuban insinuated that female Trump supporters are “weak and stupid,” she said.
