Mark Beretta ‘leans on his Sunrise co-stars and David Koch’ for support following his heartbreaking split with his wife Rachel

He confirmed his split from wife Rachel earlier this month after 22 years of marriage.

And Mark Beretta has leaned on his Sunrise family for support during this difficult time.

‘It’s a close-knit group there at Sunrise, always has been. David Koch has always had a hand on Beretts’ back. He was a tower of strength,” an insider said this week New idea magazine.

‘Everyone has been incredibly supportive. They are very sad about the split because they all love Rach.

“The good news about Mark’s father’s health has given everyone plenty of reasons to smile.”

In the meantime, Beretta and his ex remain good friends and want to be there for their children Ava and Daniel and grandson Arlo.

Earlier this month, the Sunrise star and his former partner, who married in 2001, confirmed in a statement that they had quietly split in recent months.

“At the beginning of the year, after much thought and 22 years of marriage, Rach and I came to the conclusion that a divorce was best for us,” Beretta told Daily Mail Australia through a Seven spokesperson.

“We remain close friends, and our two children and grandchild remain our focus and priority as we move forward with love, dignity and respect.”

The couple, who met in 1999, have two children: daughter Ava, 19, and son Dan, 16.

There were signs of trouble in the run-up to the split, when the couple put their Mosman home on the market in February.

Meanwhile, Beretta revealed that he has had some good news during this difficult time, posting on Instagram last week that his father had won his battle with cancer.

The sportscaster made the incredible announcement last week when he thanked medical professionals for “saving my father’s life.”

In a heartwarming Instagram post, the journalist shared a cheerful selfie of herself smiling on the beach, alongside a long message about the happy news.
