Congress is falling further into a lack of seriousness as Republicans hurl heavy insults at each other on the floor of the House of Representatives and members introduce bizarre amendments to the House foreign aid package.

The Georgia Republican filed an amendment to the $26 billion Israeli aid bill that would install “space laser technology on the southwest border,” in a trolling of her own infamous conspiracy about Jewish space lasers controlling the weather.
She recalled “space lasers” defending Israel’s border – likely referring to Israel’s ground-based laser defense system known as the Iron Beam.
In a 2018 Facebook post, Greene theorized that a massive wildfire in California was caused by a “laser beam or beam of light” sent down from space by the Rothschilds.

Meanwhile, Rep. Derrick Van Orden, R-Wis., called Rep. Matt Gaetz “tubby” on the House floor after he said Gaetz called him a “squish.”
It came as Speaker Mike Johnson huddles with conservative hardliners who want to fire him from his job over the $95 billion foreign aid package containing bills to finance Ukraine, Israel and the Indo-Pacific that he plans to introduce in the House of Representatives lay.
Another Greene amendment would require anyone who votes to fund the war in Ukraine to be conscripted into the Ukrainian military.
An amendment introduced by Rep. Jared Moskowitz, D-Fla., would designate Greene as “Vladimir Putin’s special envoy to the U.S.” and another amendment would rename Greene’s office the “Neville Chamberlain Room,” referring to the former British prime minister who was known for his soothing attitude. A motion to leave has been hanging over Johnson’s head since Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene launched the bid to oust him last month. The Georgia Republican is a staunch opponent of aid to Ukraine and has already threatened to target Johnson if he raises the issue.
With the razor-thin Republican majority, Johnson can only afford to lose three Republicans and keep his job.
The package would provide a total of $26 billion to Israel, $60 billion to Ukraine and $8 billion to the Indo-Pacific, a combination of military and humanitarian aid. It consists of four separate bills, including one for each region.
The Israeli security law will provide $4 billion to supplement Israel’s Iron Dome Missile Defense system and billions more for weapons systems, artillery and ammunition, as well as another $2.4 billion for U.S. operations in the region.
Nine billion dollars of that bill will go to humanitarian aid for the Palestinians in Gaza.
“Some of my colleagues want the Speaker of the House of Representatives to have a magic wand,” Johnson said on Fox News after releasing the text of the bills and as some of his colleagues threaten to impeach him.
He seemed to have accepted the new motion to remove the threats. “When Marjorie brings the movement, she brings the movement and lets the chips fall where they may.”
