Mariska Hargitay and Ice-T hit the mean streets of New York City to film Law & Order: Special Victims Unit ahead of show’s 25th anniversary

Mariska Hargitay and Ice-T were photographed filming scenes for Law & Order: Special Victims Unit in New York City on Thursday morning.

The 60-year-old actress and her 66-year-old co-star were seen playing Captain Olivia Benson and Sergeant Odafin ‘Fin’ Tutuola while working on new episodes of the fan-favorite police procedural series.

The Primetime Emmy Award-winning performer — who recently sent her costar her best wishes on his birthday — stayed warm in the chilly winter weather on the East Coast as she wore a black trench coat over a matching crew-neck sweater.

Hargitay completed her costume with skin-tight jeans and leather boots, both of which matched the color of her outerwear.

Ice-T, born Tracy Lauren Marrow, cut a much more casual figure in a navy blue zip-up jacket that he wore over a T-shirt during his time on set.

The Body Count frontman also wore black pants contrasted with bright white sneakers.

Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, which serves as a spinoff of the original Law & Order series, originally premiered in September 1999.

The Dick Wolf-created show has since surpassed its predecessor’s episode count to become one of the longest-running programs in television history.

The show’s 25th and currently ongoing season was originally greenlit last April and premiered last month.

The new season of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit will also be the shortest in the show’s history, as it will only last 13 episodes.

Hargitay recently spoke with Entertainment tonight and revealed that the show’s cast and crew had developed close relationships over the years.

“There’s a lot of love in the people who created this show, a lot of intimacy and an incredible amount of respect, trust and honor. So I think we all honor and respect each other,” she said.

The artist also said she felt particularly grateful to have built very personal connections with the show’s team during the performance.

“It was a privilege for me to work with them and have such an incredibly intimate relationship with all of them,” she said.

Hargitay concluded by talking about how she wanted Captain Benson to leave a lasting impression on the show’s fans.

The artist said, “I hope her legacy is that she helped heal a lot of people.”

The season finale of Law & Order: The 25th Season of Special Victims Unit currently has no scheduled premiere date.
