Mario Lopez is (almost) 50! The Saved By The Bell veteran plans to NEVER slow down as he wants to ‘keep grinding’ on his long career

Mario Lopez reflected on his fiftieth birthday during an interview with We weekly that was shared on Wednesday.

The actor – who celebrates his birthday on Tuesday – was open about his life during his conversation with the media.

The artist said he loves working and has no plans to stop.

‘I want to keep grinding. “The fact that I was a former child actor who was able to make the transition to working as consistently as I have is what I’m most proud of,” said the actor turned TV host.

The performer then said that although he was aware of his age, he still felt he could compete with his younger self.

‘I feel fine. It won’t slow me down. It’s one of those birthdays where you think, ‘Whoa, it sounds old,’ but it’s not,” he said.

The former Saved By The Bell star described 50 as “an era where you stop and think about how you got here and what’s going to happen in the future.”

Lopez then humorously shared his alleged secret to maintaining his good looks.

‘I always say I drink a lot of tequila, and that keeps you well. It’s like an embalming fluid. And I’m glad – that keeps you youthful,” he said.

The television personality was later asked about the advice he would give to his younger self.

He said: ‘No one has a mirror to predict the future… when you mess up, you learn and try to become a better individual.’

Lopez then discussed the lessons he hoped to give his children about their professional lives.

“There are no shortcuts. If you work hard, stay focused and do the right thing, the right thing will happen. And if you have a family that supports you, then God is on your side and you can do anything,” he said.

The actor concluded by revealing his plans for the future, noting that he introduced himself as “the Latin Dick Clark.”

‘I want to be on your TV for the next thirty years. I love it, and I don’t see myself slowing down. “I want to keep going until I’m 100,” he said.
