Marilyn Manson’s accuser claims her ex Evan Rachel Wood ‘manipulated’ her into false rape accusation

A woman who accused Marilyn Manson of rape on The View has now claimed she was lying, and that rocker Rachel Evan Wood’s ex pressured her into doing so.

Ashley Morgan Smithline, 38, who had a brief relationship with Manson in 2010, told Page Six that she “succumbed to pressure from Evan Rachel Wood and her associates to make rape and assault allegations against [Manson] that was not true.

The Jewish model previously accused Manson, 54, of raping her, cutting her with a swastika-emblazoned knife and putting his fist in her mouth during sex.

He went on The View to detail the allegations, even calling Manson “a freak” on the cover of People after filing the lawsuit in June 2021.

Last month, Smithline’s case against Manson was dismissed. She and she now admitted to lying, while she claims that Evan Rachel Wood pressured her into doing so by suggesting that she may have been so traumatized by a sexual assault that she would no longer be able to remember it.

Wood, 35, and Manson were together from 2006 to 2010 and were briefly engaged. He is now in a relationship with a woman named Illma Gore and the couple is working on a documentary called Phoenix Rising.

Smithline said either Gore or Ashley Walters, a former assistant, first contacted her in 2020.

She claims that they would meet and ask her about the alleged abuse and her response would be: ‘no, this did not happen to me, and this was not my experience.’

But, Smithline claims, Wood told him that “just because he couldn’t remember” those things “didn’t necessarily mean it didn’t happen.”

She also alleged that Wood told her it was possible she had “repressed” memories due to her alleged trauma.

Wood publicly named Manson as her alleged abuser in February 2021 and, according to Smithline, he allegedly advised her, along with other accusers, to do the same.

But, shortly after sharing his testimony for Phoenix Rising, Smithline realized he wasn’t acting “honorably.”

manson lawyer Howard King said Smithline called him last week on his own and apologized to Manson. He also told her that he never had any financial motivation for allegedly ‘lying’ about Manson.

‘She was a reluctant participant [in Wood’s alleged scheme] from the first moment,’ said the lawyer, page six informed.

“For a moment, after being questioned so many times by Evan Rachel Wood about this ‘repressed memory,’ and being told, ‘You’re not remembering what happened,’ she believed it for a minute.”

Esme Bianco, Manson’s ex-girlfriend, had accused him of alleged sexual, physical and emotional abuse.

Manson’s attorney noted that Smithline’s attorney, Jay Ellwanger, was the same attorney who represented Bianco in her sexual assault case.

Smithline claims that she felt attacked and manipulated by Woods, Bianco and her own lawyer and that is what led her to repeat the false rape claims because, she said, she felt “emotionally manipulated.”

Manson’s ex also said that she “never received any money from Mr. Warner and that she did not seek any money from him.”

“I have no intention of refiling a lawsuit against Mr. Warner,” he said.

“Looking back, I feel I was manipulated by Ms. Wood, Ms. Gore, Ms. Bianco and Mr. Ellwanger into publicly spreading false allegations of abuse against Mr. Warner.”

He alleged that Ellwanger had written a complaint without speaking to Smithline about what the allegations were in fact, and then filed the complaint.

King said: ‘They wore her out.’

Manson, whose real name is Brian Warner, has been accused by more than a dozen women alleging sexual misconduct against him, but not all have taken legal action and have never faced criminal charges.

Bianco was one of the women who sued Manson and his record label Marilyn Manson Records, Inc. She also sued the singer for human trafficking, among other charges. Rolling Stone informed.

The couple settled the sexual assault lawsuit out of court earlier this year for an undisclosed amount.

King said Bianco was the only Manson accuser to get paid.

He said the lawsuit was settled with the insurance company and said it was a “fraction” of what she was asking for.

Manson is now suing Wood for conspiracy and Gore for defamation, as the musician alleges the pair conspired against him for their own financial gain.
