There aren’t many people that Mariah Carey would also give up on her headliner role when it comes to performing. But when it comes to Santa himself, she makes an exception.
The Queen of Christmas, 52, took to her Instagram page on Friday and announced she’ll be performing at this year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, where she’ll open for Santa.
My childhood dream come true! I’m opening for the one and only, SANTA, at this year’s @macys Thanksgiving day parade!’ she gushed in an Instagram post. Tune in for Thanksgiving Day @NBC! #macysparade.’

A banner with a “special announcement” appears before the Instagram post, along with the opening jingle of her famous song on the hit Christmas song All I Want For Christmas Is You (1994).
As the song plays along with the drums and the rest of the instruments, some November dates flash on the screen leading up to the November 24 parade.
“Hey, it’s Mariah. See you at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade,” you hear Carey announce in the post.

While this may be a dream come true for the Queen of Christmas, it’s actually a dream revisited for the pop superstar.
She previously participated in and performed in the 89th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on November 26, 2015.
Revelers can watch all the classic Christmas festivities by showing up in person for the parade, or for those who want the comfort of their homes, you can watch the live broadcast on NBC or the streaming version on Peacock.
