Continuing to break records, the new No. 1 spot also extends Mariah’s record for the longest span of an artist ranking at number one on the chart, over 32 years, since its first week in 1990 with her debut single Vision of Love. .

The news comes a few days later Carey made a brilliant return to UK number one with the smash hit Friday.

The singer has only been number one on the UK singles charts once before with the festive song, reaching the top in 2020, 26 years after its release.

Simon Rose-Hopkins, owner of country and western music bar Jolene’s in the city, has declared his watering hole a Mariah-free zone.

Far from being the Grinch, Simon assured customers that there’s plenty of Christmas cheer, just not the iconic song.

‘We are doing Christmas on steroids. We’ve got lights, reindeer, Christmas trees, and holiday cocktails like a gingerbread Manhattan and a Christmas Pavlova slushie. We have a Country Christmas playlist, but we won’t be playing Mariah,’ she said. the daily telegraph on Monday.
