Rumors began circulating two weeks ago that the pair had split, as Melbourne-based Maria traveled solo to Australian Fashion Week in Sydney.

In conversation with De Announce sun Maria was cryptic at the time when asked about the couple’s relationship.

“Jorgia, she’s doing incredible things in Melbourne right now and we love and support each other so much,” Thattil said during questioning.

The couple appeared together on the cover of Stellar magazine in January after meeting online several months earlier.

Maria revealed in January that the pair clicked almost immediately after meeting for a date.

“It was lust at first sight and it was obsession at first sight,” she said of the Melbourne mental health professional.

“After that first date I spent the night and the next day I went on a work trip to the Gold Coast with my brother and secretly called her my girlfriend. I hadn’t had that feeling in a long time.”

Maria, who is of Indian descent, added: “Growing up, if I had seen a same-sex interracial female couple in the media – open, visible, living truthfully – it might have made my own experience a little more positive ‘.
