Margot Robbie’s VERY surprising new live-action project is revealed after the record-breaking success of her Barbie movie

Margot Robbie’s surprise new live-action film has been unveiled following the phenomenal and record-breaking success of her Barbie movie.

The actress, 33, starred in the highest-grossing film of 2023 as the famed Mattel doll, and is now set to embark on a new live-action project in hopes of continuing the success.

She will be producing a film based on the long-running video game series The Sims, with few details about the exciting new project currently known.

Margot will produce the film through her production company LuckyChap Entertainment, which she founded with her husband Tom Ackerley in 2014.

It will be directed by Kate Herron, who has worked behind the scenes on hit TV shows including Loki and Sex Education, the release date of which has yet to be confirmed.

The hugely popular video game series The Sims began in 2000 and allows players to live in a ‘virtual simulation’ of life where they can create their own lives.

From figuring out their character’s personality traits, jobs, skills and relationships to building houses, the computer game became extremely popular and was expanded with sequels and expansion packs.

There is no main character in the Sims universe, but individually created characters by gameplayers, and you can see the characters embark on every journey, from mundane daily activities to adventures with vampires and magic.

Margot is currently only listed as a producer for the film, rather than also taking on the lead role like in the Barbie movie, although it’s possible she has a cameo in it.

Ny Breaking Australia has contacted Margot’s representatives for comment.

It’s not Margot’s first foray into live-action films after impressing fans last year with her starring role in the smash hit Barbie movie, which she also produced.

The blockbuster smashed box office records and made director Greta Gerwig become the first female director to reach a record $1 billion.

Margot has already produced thirteen films through her production company, including last year’s critically acclaimed thriller Saltburn.

In January it was revealed that Margot plans to step back from acting after Barbie’s global success.

The Australian actress laid bare her ambitions to work off-screen after years building her acting portfolio while fronting Deadline’s Awards Line issue.

Speaking to the publication, Margot said she wants to take a break from starring in films because she thinks everyone is “tired” of seeing her.

‘I also think everyone is tired of seeing me for the time being. I should probably disappear from the screens for a while,” she said.

“Honestly, if I made another movie too soon, people would be like, ‘Her again? We just spent a whole summer playing with her. We’re over it.’

“I don’t know what I’m going to do next, but I hope it lasts a while,” she added.

She noted that in addition to her leading Barbie role, she was also busy producing behind the scenes.

Elsewhere in the interview, Margot laid bare her ambitions to direct her own film, after years of producing critically acclaimed content.
