She is one of Australia’s most successful actresses, with a glittering Hollywood career, a powerful production company and a successful gin brand.
But Margot Robbie wasn’t always such an overachiever, if her high school teacher is to be believed.
During the Tuesday broadcast of 2Day FM’s Hughesy, Ed and Erincomedian David ‘Hughesy’ Hughes claimed he had recently come across a woman teaching Margot at Somerset College in Mudgeeraba, Queensland.
“She knew Margot Robbie all through high school. I said, ‘What was she like?’… She said, ‘Margot Robbie was inconspicuous at school,’ Hughesy claimed.
“She wasn’t the cool girl, she wasn’t the lead in the plays,” he continued.

‘She was just a girl at school. She said (Margot) was certainly not unpleasant. A nice person. But no one knew what was going to happen (with her career).”
A year after graduating, Margot landed a role in the Australian soap Neighbours, where she joined illustrious alumni such as Russell Crowe, Guy Pearce and Kylie Minogue.
‘I owe so much to the Neighbors. There are so many of us who owe them something for giving us a big breakthrough,” Margot previously shared The sun.
