Margot Robbie reveals she studied old Radox shower gel commercials for her shower scenes in Barbie as she gives a tour of the film’s incredible set

She is known for her attention to detail when it comes to researching her movie roles.

And Margot Robbie has revealed that she studied old Radox commercials for her shower scenes in her upcoming movie, Barbie.

The Australian actress, 32, made the revelation when she took Architectural Digest for a tour of the Barbie movie set.

Because the film wants to show what a real Barbie house is like for children to play with, there is no running water on set or in the film.

However, Barbie still showers, and Margot showed how her character does this in the video.

“I would really just look up old Radox commercials and try to replicate those,” she explained.

While the Radox ads actually feature water, they’re known for their close-ups of actors enjoying a hot shower.

Meanwhile, other interesting details of the set included fully see-through Barbie houses, a slide from the bedroom to the garden, and a mock pool.

“It’s not super practical, but nothing is for Barbie,” Margot explained.

“It’s just fun and wonderful and it’s see-through so we can see each other, all the Barbies in their own Barbie dream homes wake up and wave to each other.”

Margot called it “surreal” seeing the set for the first time.

“I had looked at the miniatures, the models, the drawings and the design for so long and then when you see it for the first time in real life and it’s all there… it was really exciting,” she added.
