Margot Robbie has announced a new milestone in her career, having been an ambassador for Chanel for over six years.
The 34-year-old Australian actress is the new face of the French fashion house’s most famous fragrance: Chanel N°5.
The Barbie star has been an ambassador for Chanel since 2018 and was the face of Chanel Gabrielle perfume in 2019.
“I think Chanel N°5 is one of the most iconic fragrances in the world. It’s incredible to be part of it,” Margot said of her latest appointment.
“There is such an impressive lineage of women who have been associated with the fragrance over the years. I feel very honored to join that long list of incredible talents.”
Margot follows in the footsteps of other famous stars such as Marilyn Monroe and Brad Pitt, but she is not the first Australian actress to be the face of the iconic fragrance.
Nicole Kidman was the face of the brand’s perfume in her 2004 commercial for Chanel N°5, ‘Le Film’, directed by Baz Luhrmann.
Speaking with WWDMargot adds: ‘I have always known Chanel N°5… It is an iconic brand.’

‘It’s what you always associate with absolute luxury. At least that’s how I’ve always thought about Chanel.
‘Now that I’m part of the Chanel family, I associate it with more personal memories and things I’ve been able to do.’
Margot signed a deal with Chanel in 2018 and has since worn almost exclusively the luxury brand’s clothes on the red carpet.
While no details of a formal contract were ever made public, some speculated that her deal with the brand had ended after she wore an emerald green Bottega Veneta gown to the Governors Awards in November 2022.

Chanel N°5 is one of the best-selling perfumes in the world and is a timeless classic.
The perfume was created in 1920 by Ernest Beaux and has since been adapted by Henri Robert and Jacques Polge.
It was launched in 1921 by designer Coco Chanel and has remained popular ever since.
Coco Chanel was convinced that no other perfumer could copy the scent. According to Beaux, this was achieved by keeping the formula secret and it was too expensive to imitate.
The fragrance is endorsed by several celebrities including Marilyn, Nicole, Gisele Bundchen and Catherine Deneuve.
Marilyn is perhaps the most famous fan. She says she only sleeps in Chanel No. 5.
“What do I wear to bed? Well, Chanel N°5 of course,” she said.
The icon only became the face of the perfume in 2013, more than 50 years after her death, when she was depicted in an advertising campaign.
