Margot Robbie makes a low-key arrival in Brisbane a week ahead of the AACTA Awards… after breaking her silence following brutal Oscars snub for Barbie film
Margot Robbie looked very casual as she landed in Brisbane, Australia, after traveling solo to her home state.
The Australian actress, 33, made a solo low-key arrival at Brisbane International Airport on Saturday, a week ahead of the 2024 AACTA Awards.
She will appear at the star-studded event, held on Saturday, February 10 on the Gold Coast, where she will receive the AACTA Trailblazer Award.
Margot stepped out in oversized, light green cargo pants and a fitted white T-shirt.
The Barbie star paired her look with a pair of comfortable white sneakers and carried a large tote bag over one shoulder.

Her blonde locks were styled and straightened with a center part, while she opted for a natural makeup palette with a nude lip.
She received assistance from airport staff and security, who carried her luggage through the terminal to a vehicle waiting for her.
Margot helped herself open the car door before a man held it so she could step inside.
Margot’s arrival in Queensland comes ahead of this year’s AACTA Trailblazer Award ceremony.

Earlier this week Margot breaking her silence as she followed her Oscars snob for her work in the blockbuster Barbie.
The Australian actress set social media ablaze when she failed to score a Best Actress nomination for her leading role, even though the film was the biggest film of 2023.

Greta Gerwig also failed to get a nomination for best director, while Ryan Gosling, who played Ken, was nominated for best supporting actor.
Margot, 33, spoke about the furor during a SAG-AFTRA panel discussion on Thursday.
“You can’t feel sad knowing that you’re so blessed,” she began, adding that she was “beyond ecstatic” with the film’s eight Oscar nominations.
“It’s just incredible that everyone is getting the nods that they’ve had, and the best photo nod,” she continued.

“People’s reactions to the film have been the biggest reward of this whole experience,” she added.
‘I can’t imagine a time when a film has had this effect on culture. And it’s great to be in the eye of the storm.”
Some social media commentators pointed the finger at sexism for Robbie’s Best Actress award, despite the fact that America Ferrera was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for the same film.
“Ryan Gosling, even though he deserved it, got an Oscar nomination for Barbie, while Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie didn’t?” wrote an outraged fan on X.
“This totally proves the point of the movie in 20 f***ing 24, you can’t make this up,” the social media user added, referencing the film’s feminist themes.

A third groused: ‘If Ryan deserved a nomination then Margot would have, the fact she wouldn’t have won isn’t the point. It almost feels like the Academy deliberately played into the film’s theme to get people talking. #Oscars are no longer about who actually deserves it.’
While Margot isn’t in the running for Best Lead Actress, the film itself is nominated for Best Picture, meaning she’s actually nominated as a producer.
Greta and her husband Noah Baumbach are also jointly nominated this year for writing Barbie’s adapted screenplay.

The film was also nominated for Best Costume Design, Best Production Design and two nominations for Original Music, bringing its total number of entries to eight.
Margot has previously been nominated for two Oscars: Best Lead Actress for her 2017 film I, Tonya, a biopic about Tonya Harding, and Best Supporting Actress for the 2020 film Bombshell, which dramatized the story of Fox News’ sex scandals.
Meanwhile, Greta was previously nominated for the Best Director Oscar for her 2017 film Lady Bird, marking her first solo helm of a feature film.
She was also nominated for that film’s screenplay, as well as the script of her follow-up film, the 2019 adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s classic novel Little Women.
