Margot Robbie crashed my mate’s stag do! Best man reveals how Hollywood star was a rather unexpected addition to their lads’ night out in a remote Scottish pub

A stag group has revealed how their night out at the pub was disrupted by Hollywood beauty Margot Robbie.

Best man Tony celebrated his best friend’s bachelorette party in a remote Scottish pub last summer, at the height of Barbie’s box office success.

Tony and eleven friends were enjoying pints and dinner in the small pub when the conversation turned to the summer’s new film releases.

‘I was sitting overlooking Margot and certainly saw an attractive lady sitting at the table, but had no idea it was Margot. At some point we started talking about Oppenheimer and Barbie as they had just come out,” Tony tells MailOnline.

Margot herself told the story at a recent screening of her hit film in Los Angeles, revealing: ‘I listened to a group of guys at a bachelor party discussing the Barbie movie for about 30 minutes, not realizing I was standing two or three meters away from the film. them.’

Tony insists the group only had “good things to say” about Margot’s film, but a friend “did say we should go see it ‘for the culture.'”

Margot admitted she ‘wouldn’t go to Tony and his friend’, but changed her mind as she left the pub.

“I went to their table and said, ‘Thanks for seeing the Barbie movie.’ It was very funny, they lost it. It took them a full minute to realize it and I was practically out the door and they went “Ohhhh”‘.

Tony tells MailOnline for his part, recalling the breathtaking moment he recognized the stunning star.

“Towards the end of dinner I noticed the lady I had seen earlier approaching our table with her date.”

‘We all looked up and she says to us with a big smile, “Hey, I just wanted to thank you all for going to see the Barbie movie!”‘.

“She turned around and immediately walked outside, where we all just sat with our jaws on the floor.”

‘Then we all started to panic, some of us shouting “was that actually her?!”. At that point the waitress came out laughing and said, “We heard you started talking about Barbie and you were panicking in the kitchen again. We hoped you didn’t say anything bad!’.

Tony has stated that this moment was ‘definitely the highlight of the trip and I included it in my best man’s speech in London.’

As for Margot, she previously said that “people’s reactions to the film have been the biggest reward of this whole experience.”

‘Whether it’s one of those moments, or whether it’s listening in the bathroom, or whether it’s seeing what people write online.’

‘I’ve never taken part in anything like this before. Not like this.’

Australian actress Margot used to live in Britain, in a flat in London, and still visits regularly when she’s not in Los Angeles.

Margot’s former home in Clapham, affectionately known as ‘The Manor’ by residents, was true Margot began her relationship with her husband, Surrey-born filmmaker Tom Ackerley, and experienced what she describes as ‘the best of times’.

The lease for the property was originally signed in early 2014, shortly after the release of the film that would make her name: Martin Scorcese’s The Wolf Of Wall Street.

At the time, Margot was dating her Surrey-born husband, filmmaker Tom Ackerley (pictured together at the Barbie world premiere in July 2023)

Margot praised the unlikely joys of living in Clapham in an interview with luxury London lifestyle magazine The Resident in 2017, saying she loved the “humble” atmosphere of her life there.

‘For me, where you live and what you do should be simplistic and comfortable, otherwise how are you going to relax?’ she said.

‘Clapham has always felt humble in the sense that you’re just left alone to get on with who you are, and that’s perfect. But I like living with a lot of people. It reminds me of the house I grew up in.

‘It’s funny – I always think I want privacy because I’m never really alone. But if I am, I hate it. After five minutes I find people to hang out with.”

Margot married Tom in Byron Bay in December 2016. The following year, the duo moved from London to a lavish 3,300-square-foot Los Angeles apartment with four bedrooms and six bathrooms.
