Maren Morris debuts song saying she hopes to ‘never fall in love again’ and swearing previous romance was ‘the last time’… ONE DAY after coming out as bisexual post-Ryan Hurd divorce

Maren Morris has released a new song about never wanting to fall in love again – a day after she came out as bisexual in the wake of her divorce from Ryan Hurd.

In an Instagram post in honor of Pride Month this Monday, Maren announced, “Happy to be the B in LGBTQ+, happy pride!”

Her joyful declaration came five months after she and Ryan finalized their divorce, which she filed last October after five years of marriage.

The day after announcing the news about her sexuality, Maren gave her first live performance of her song I Hope I Never Fall in Love at a concert in Colorado.

“I hope I never fall in love again,” she sings in the ballad, promising that her previous romance was “the last time,” according to We weekly.

Maren introduced the song in a tongue-in-cheek way, telling the crowd at Red Rocks, “When you hear the title, you’re like, ‘OK, b****. Yeah, right.’

‘I wrote this song together with my friend Delacey. This song is called I Hope I Never Fall in Love. It is beautiful [self]-explanatory,” the country singer shared.

“I’m taking another page from my hero’s book,” the song begins. ‘I haven’t slept in days and the pressure is gone. I know it with all the fish in the deep blue sea. I’m going to get bored and take you home.’

By the chorus, however, she has grimly concluded, “I hope I never fall in love.” I hope I never fall in love again. I’m not taking it back.’

Maren then expresses her determination to “be a good girl” and “stay on the wagon” — or at least “keep it to myself if it ever happens.”

Her tactic will be to “throw myself a party and drink champagne,” she concludes. ‘I probably won’t be happy, but I’ll dance in vain. When the lonely feelings creep in, I will not let my willpower weaken.”

In her closing verse she declares, “I was once baffled when it came to love. I would take a little hit and be completely confused. But I loved him from the bottom up and I saw the light. God as my witness, that was the last time.”

Their separation became public in October last year when Maren filed for divorce in Tennessee, citing “irreconcilable differences.”

Two months later, she revealed that she was not ready to start dating again and was instead focusing on her work as a songwriter.

She noted that her divorce proceedings were still “ongoing” and said that she “would like this to be finalized” and that she was not in the “head space” of starting a new relationship.

“I write so much now, that’s kind of my way of dating… just through songs,” she explained. The Howard Stern Show.

Maren finally came out as bisexual on Instagram this Monday, after years of vocal advocacy for LGBTQ+ causes.

In 2022, she feuded with Brittany, the wife of her compatriot Jason Aldean, whom she accused of transphobia via an Instagram joke.

Brittany wrote, “I would really like to thank my parents for not changing my gender when I was going through my tomboy phase,” prompting a scathing response from Maren, who dubbed her “Rebellion Barbie.”

Right-wing pundit Candace Owens then lambasted Maren on Twitter, prompting Maren to sneer, “My Grammy is actually crying right now,” and Candace accuses her of sounding “like a 15-year-old girl on Tik-Tok.”

Maren also jumped into the social media fray when Candace Cameron Bure said she was leaving the Hallmark Channel in favor of projects about “traditional marriage” on the Great American Family network.

Maren called out Candace’s Full House character DJ Tanner, writing a comment on Instagram joking, “Make DJ gay again.”

Last year, she appeared on RuPaul’s Drag Race and apologized on the verge of tears for country music’s “relationship with LGBTQ+ members.”

Months later, she wrote an essay denouncing the “terrible” way “the country music industry has treated LGBTQ people.” Billboard.

“There are people like Ty Herndon, who couldn’t come out until he was essentially no longer in the industry. But progress is being made: TJ Osborne, one of my best friends, came out a few years ago, and there’s so much support behind him because it says, “Yeah, it doesn’t matter.”

TJ, one of the Brothers Osborne, became the only openly gay artist to sign to a major country label when he came out in February 2021.
