Police are offering a $1 MILLION reward for information that can finally solve the disturbing cold case murder of a grandmother mysteriously found dead in her armchair

Victorian woman Marea Yann was found dead nearly 20 years ago sitting in an armchair in her home.
Now the Victoria Police Department is offering a $1 million reward for information leading to the conviction of the person or persons who killed her.
Ms Yann, 69, was found on the morning of 30 September 2003 by a gardener working at her home in Healesville, in the Yarra Ranges, northeast of Melbourne.

Mrs. Yann was found dead in her armchair on the morning of September 30, 2003
“Marea was sitting in an armchair in her living room and suffered serious head and upper body injuries from an assault,” police said in a statement Tuesday.
“She was wearing a red sweater, black trousers and loafers and was not yet dressed for bed.”
The TV was still on, but there was no sign of a break-in and her wallet, seemingly untouched, lay on the floor.
Police later determined that she was probably killed on the night of September 29.
In February 2006, a then 46-year-old man known to Ms Yann was charged with murder, but was acquitted after the case went to court two years later.
The case will reopen in 2021.
This is the second reward offered for solving the case. The first was $100,000 offered in October 2005.
