Marcus Rashford scores with a STUNNING strike from 25-yards to give Manchester United a shock lead against Man City
Marcus Rashford scored with a stunning long-range strike to give Manchester United the lead against Manchester City.
The 26-year-old has received a lot of criticism from fans and pundits for his performances this season.
Erik ten Hag’s team started the Manchester derby behind, as the home team dominated possession in the opening exchange.
But against the run of play, Rashford put United ahead and silenced his critics with a powerful strike from 25 yards following a Bruno Fernandes lay-off.
Gary Neville, commentating for Sky Sports, said: Neville: ‘That’s the best way to answer anyone – hit one into the net from 25 yards.
‘Ake lets Fernandes come behind. There’s a 1 in 20, 1 in 30 chance that you think Rashford will beat Ederson from there. It’s a beauty from Manchester United’s number ten.’
Former striker and Match of The Day presenter Gary Lineker praised Rashford on social media. He posted: ‘What a fantastic goal from @MarcusRashford as Rio Ferdinand simply said ‘RASSSSHYYYYYY’.
United fans were also quick to react to the goal on X. One wrote: ‘OMG WTF FAIRS RASHFORD’.
A second fan said: ‘RASHFORD OMG THAT IS THE BIGGEST ATTACK I HAVE EVER SEEN WTF FIRST TIME TOOO’.
“Marcus Rashford, omg what a goal,” a third United supporter added.
Rashford’s strike comes days after he hit back at people who questioned his commitment to the Red Devils.
